It has never been so easy for me to choose lipstick shades because even without swatches, I knew for sure that out of all the Victoria Beckham Beauty Posh Lipstick options, I needed shades Spice and Girl 🙂 Yep, I am a hardcore Spice Girls fan. Luckily, both shades turned out to be neutral and I use them almost daily.
Victoria Beckham Beauty Posh Lipstick claims and ingredients
Formulated with natural oils and protective waxes, Victoria Beckham Beauty Posh Lipstick leaves lips visibly hydrated, nourished and with a beautiful glow with just one coat. The lipstick is available in fourteen shades and each of them can be matched with the complementing shade of Victoria Beckham Beauty Lip Definer pencil.
Ingredients list: Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate, Diisostearyl Malate, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Caprylic/capric Triglyceride, Synthetic Wax, Triisostearin, Polybutene, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax/candelilla Cera/cire De Candelilla, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Wax, Rosa Damascena Flower Wax, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Punica Granatum Flower Extract, Silica, Tocopheryl Acetate, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Dicalcium Phosphate, Mica
Victoria Beckham Beauty Posh Lipstick is claimed to be not just your usual lipstick, but also a skincare product, so it has some skincare ingredients in it. Here you will find a mix of candelilla, rose petal and sunflower waxes, which create a protective film on the lips to retain moisture and soften (which helps heal dry and chapped lips); sunflower, coconut and avocado oils for intensive hydration, nourishing and shine; a complex of jojoba oil and pomegranate extract to smooth wrinkles and give lips volume, and antioxidants to protect against free radicals.
Victoria Beckham also emphasizes that her cosmetics should be as safe as possible, so her lipsticks do not contain alcohol, fragrances and essential oils that could cause an allergic reaction.
Packaging, texture and the shades Spice and Girl swatches
Whatever I buy from Victoria Beckham’s beauty brand (I already have a mini-collection both from her personal beauty line and from collaboration with Estee Lauder), I always know that the quality and packaging design will be top-notch. And the Victoria Beckham Beauty Posh Lipsticks are not only no exception, but they also outshined all the lipsticks that I own or owned before.
First, the tortoise brown and black design itself looks very pretty. Secondly, the elongated and very thin shape of the lipstick case looks rather unusual and I had never had such lipsticks before. Thirdly, the cap of the lipstick closes very tightly, until a “click”, so it definitely won’t accidentally open in the bag. Well, and fourth, the packaging is so weighty that at first, such heaviness was unusual. But when you hold it, you may distinguish it from more budget-friendly lipsticks even with closed eyes.
Both Spice and Girl shades are more like weightless creamy lip balms than standard creamy lipsticks, which sometimes tend to feel thicker and heavier on the mouth. Victoria Beckham Beauty Posh Lipsticks glide on like cream and apply like butter. Plus, due to a large number of emollients (waxes and oils) in the ingredients list, they are very comfortable and do not emphasize dry lips, while delivering hydration and softness to them. My shades are not highly pigmented, but you can see the colour when the lipstick is applied in one layer. However, the lipsticks are semi-transparent so do not expect full coverage from them.
The finish of Spice and Girl is satin and gives a delicate glow without a shimmer. And they are definitely not long-lasting just like all lipsticks with the balm formula are, but wear off gradually and can survive a couple of drinks.
And more about each shade.
Spice is a beige shade with a slight ginger tint (just as its name suggests), which, when applied in one layer, only makes the lip colour warmer. But if you apply it in two or three layers, you can get a rich gingery-brown shade.
And my personal favourite Girl is a light dusty pink with a neutral undertone that is neither too cold nor too warm. For me, this is the “my bare lips only better” shade, so I wear it very often.
Shade Spice is on the left, and shade Girl is on the right.
And my impressions
I’m not a big lipstick lover and usually prefer liquid lip glosses, but Victoria Beckham Beauty Posh Lipstick has become one of my favourite lip products. Primarily due to its very comfortable texture, beautiful and high-quality design and the fact that the stick is slim, so it is very convenient to apply it even on the go without a mirror.
I also really like that it hydrates and nourishes the lips not worse than lip balms. Plus, I was really lucky with shades, as both colours are wearable and will suit almost everyone. And for those who like richer colours, there are brighter and deeper options in the collection.
The lipsticks cost £34 and are available at:
